The Ten Commandments

Are the Ten Commandments just a list of rules we are supposed to obey? Do they still apply today? And if so, how do we apply the commandments to our lives?

In this ten-session series, pastor Albert Tate takes us through the Ten Commandments and shows us how we were first loved by God and what it looks like to love him in return. God wrote a love letter through his commandments so that we could know his heart and learn to love others in the same way.

We are still doing this in a hybrid format meaning that if you wanted to attend via Zoom, you can still be part of the study while we are also meeting in person. If you want to be added to our mailing list, please let Major Ann know. We meet on Tuesday nights at 7:00 PM in the Library.

Turkey & Syria Earthquake/International Response

According to IHQ earlier today, the international Salvation Army 'is not currently planning a direct, operational involvement on the ground’ in Turkey and/or Syria as we do not have an established presence in either country. As such, The Salvation Army is exploring the most efficient and effective means of supporting our existing, trusted humanitarian partners and networks in their response and recovery efforts in the region.

Those who would like to financially support these efforts may visit www.sawso.org. Donations via SAWSO will help us, in collaboration with partner organizations in the region, provide urgently needed assistance to survivors.

Divisional Youth Retreat - Upside Down - March 24-26

Our theme scripture will be Colossians 3:1-17 and will be looking at Peter’s story. We will be taking into account major life-turning points and transformational moments that lead to Peter's world-changing ministry, leading others to turn their lives upside down from darkness to life in Jesus. Delegates will have the opportunity to build friendships, participate in fun activities and hear from amazing leaders throughout the weekend.

Divisional Youth Retreat is for ages 13-18 years old. Keep in mind that delegates who are 18 years old and still in high school will need to complete PTM. The cost for the weekend is $75 per delegate.

Registration is due March 10. Please see Major Ann for the forms.

International Prayer Focus

This initiative of turning our thoughts and prayers towards the same part of the world at some point in the same week is a beautiful way to unite us as a global Army family and I thank you for the commitment you each give to this.

WEEK 5 - A Prayer for Encouragement for our Salvation Army Leaders

Father God,

We thank you for the gift of the church.

You created us for community – to live well together. To encourage one another, to remind each other of the truth that you love us, that you equip us, that we are treasured and we are yours.

Lord, give us a desire to care deeply for our leaders, to value and encourage them as we do with one another.

We know at times leadership can feel lonely, the responsibility overwhelming, the tasks exhausting. Surround our leaders with trusted voices, reliable friends, and wise mentors. People who will build them up.

Lord, help us to be those people. To take every opportunity to show genuine care, to share words of affirmation, to see and acknowledge where You are at work through their leading.

Help us all to walk in a manner worthy of the calling You have given us. To have humble and gentle hearts in all our interactions with one another. To have patience for one another, bearing with one another in love.

You are seen when we are one.

May it be so.

AMEN

May the Lord bless you as you bless others through your intercessions on their behalf.
