Major's Minute

Well, it has been a very interesting week. There's always something going on - even on the "quiet days" - but it is all a part of life with an extended church family. There have been some "highs" and "lows" ... and that's okay ... when we have each other for support.

I know that there have been some major health concerns for some of our family members or for their extended family. Plus, Heaven has gained a few more souls. And while we celebrate their welcome to their eternal home with Jesus, their presence is greatly missed here. We may not always understand what happens in this life, but we have to trust that God sees the big picture.

Jim has been doing a series in the Chronicle on the life (and book of Job). I hope that this will be helpful to you when you are unsure of what is happening to you or around you. I know that I find encouragement from God's Word, but I also know that God speaks to me through music. I pray that this song will bless your heart as it does mine.

Continue to pray for one another. Lean on each other. Help when possible. But ultimately, let's point each other to Jesus.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, NIV
